How to Use the Calendar
Welcome to the GCBcalendar.com help section. We hope that you are able to navigate the site easily, and if not we have provided some helpful tips and explanations below. If at any point you are experiencing difficulties, please send a detailed description of the problem, including the browser and operating system you are using, to web@gunnisoncrestedbutte.com.

The site is designed to work with Internet Explorer version 6, Firefox, or Safari version 1.3 and above.
Please note that all events are subject to review. The site administrator may make changes to any events or disallow the event to be posted on the calendar.

The title will be displayed on the calendar, in RSS feeds, by local media in calendar listings, and is a primary search item. Your title should be concise so that it fits nicely in the calendar “boxes”, we recommend 50 characters with spaces. Please do not use all caps for your title. If your Organization name is an important part of your event title, please use your common acronym. (i.e. CBMR Pipe & Park Series)
Enter the URL where users can learn more about this event. It can be the home page of your website (www.mysite.com), or a detailed page within (www.mysite.com/eventXYZ/detail.htm).
Use the drop menu to select a start time and date for your event, or type it in yourself in the format, mm/dd/yyyy 01 PM.
This field is not required, but it does have a default setting. So, if you only enter the start time and date, your information will appear like this: March 12, 2007 1PM
Enter the location information for your event.
Tags will be utilized in a future release of the online community calendar.
You may select one or any number of categories. The site administrator has the right to modify your selections if they do not apply. If you select more than one, the site will associate the first alphabetical category as your primary. All categories selected are searchable in the categorical search field.
You may write as many words here as you like. The site administrator may make modifications to your event. You are responsible for using the spell check feature before submitting your event.
This is your official organization name.
If you have a place on your website where your event tickets etc can be sold, enter the complete URL in the box. If you use a third party booking service like Active.com, enter that URL here. If you do not have an online method of booking, please leave this field blank.
Enter a monetary amount or a descriptive term like FREE. If you have a wide range of pricing it is recommended you describe the pricing in the description area and use this field to say “starting at $10.00” or “see above”. The field will not support more than 50 characters with spaces.
Enter the name of an associate or specialist with knowledge of how this event works, how to register etc. If this number rings to voice mail, your message must acknowledge the event in some regard.
Be sure to include the area code in the local phone so out of town visitors know how to reach you.
You may enter a second address in this format: first@web.com,second@web.com
You may also use this field for International numbers.
Navigate to any Internet map application you prefer (Google Map, Map Quests, Cities and Streets etc.), and follow their prompts. Once your location is identified, copy the URL and paste into this field. The link will display in your event detail as a map link.
This is the common Venue Name where the event will be held. You can use the map link to give participants specific directions- do not include the physical address here.
You may opt to select a primary and secondary category from the many characteristics that best describes you event. These characteristics are available in the export feature which will help users create niche calendars.
You may add an image, which will be resized automatically for you. PLEASE wait for the image to completely load and be displayed in the Add media window before selecting the “Add” button. After loading, select “Add” and the image will be displayed, select cancel and the image will be removed. Accepted file formats are jpg, png or gif and the recommended image ratio is 3×4 or 207px by 138px.
RSS
Internet Explorer 6 doesn’t support RSS. In order to view the feed you’ll need to download, install, and configure an external RSS reader, OR simply install the free Internet Explorer 7 update, FireFox 2 or other updated Internet programs.
